The Poway Unified School District is proud to announce the selection of Amy Smith-Richardson as principal of Morning Creek Elementary School. The selection will be recommended to the Poway Unified School District Board of Education for approval at its meeting on August 19, 2013.
The Poway Unified School District is pleased to announce new leadership at several schools beginning July 2013. Superintendent John Collins made the following announcement:
This morning Deputy Sheriffs from the Poway Sheriff’s department took three Poway Unified School
District students into custody for sale of illegal drugs. Two of the arrests occurred on the campuses of Poway
High School and Mt. Carmel High School and were made without incident. Several adults in the community
were also taken into custody. These arrests were made as a part of an on-going North San Diego County
undercover investigation by the Narcotics Task Force (NTF), the North County Regional Gang Task Force
(NCRGTF) and Deputy Sheriffs from the Poway, San Marcos and Ramona stations.
K-8 School Is the First of Its Kind in Poway Unified School District
Poway Unified School District is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for its new K-8 school on Thursday, May 9th, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Poway Unified School District Superintendent John Collins is pleased to announce that he will be recommending Tracy Hogarth to the Board of Education as the district’s new Associate Superintendent of Personnel Support Services. Ms. Hogarth is currently the Executive Director of Personnel Support Services in Poway Unified, a position she has held since 2004. She will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the current Associate Superintendent, Bill Chiment.
