Welcome to the Poway Unified School District, where we empower world-class learners!  We are a nationally renowned public school district that proudly educates 34,000 students throughout 41 award-winning schools.

We are so happy to welcome you to our district! Poway Unified enrollment and registration processes are organized into the following categories:

2025-2026 New Student Enrollment: This is for any student that is new to PUSD, including Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students, even if their siblings are already PUSD students. New Student Enrollment for the current school year will remain open.

*New student enrollment for the 26-27 school year (Preschool - 12th grade) will begin February 2, 2026 @ 8 am.

Continuing Student Registration (March 2 - 31, 2026): This registration option is for students currently enrolled in Poway Unified schools grades TK-11, who will be returning for the 2026-2027 school year.

Intra-District Transfer Window (Opens February 1, 2026 @ 8 am): An intra-district transfer request is for those who live within PUSD boundaries, but would like their child(ren) to attend a school other than their school of residence. This includes incoming siblings of current students.

Preschool Enrollment: Registration is open year-round! PUSD Preschool Programs are for families with 3 year olds and offers age-appropriate, dynamic lessons, nurturing environments, and foundational learning.

ELEMENTARY EXTENDED STUDENT SERVICES BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

New Student Enrollment for Grades TK-5 for the 2025-2026 school year does not automatically enroll students in the Extended Student Services (ESS) before and/or after school program. A separate application process for ESS is required for all new students.

New applications to the ESS program are centrally managed by the District Office, Before/After School Department through a single application and interest list. Information on how to apply for ESS for the 2026-2027 school year, will be available on the ESS webpage starting on January 16, 2026.

Submitting an application for ESS does not guarantee participation in the program. It is anticipated that the demand for the ESS program will exceed the program capacity at most schools. Should a site be determined near capacity for ESS enrollment, a lottery process may be necessary to determine new student placement in the program.

Students in Grades TK-4 participating in the ESS program during the current school year, will be considered "continuing students" and will not need to re-apply. Information for continuing ESS students for the 2026-2027 school year, will be available on the ESS webpage starting on January 16, 2026. New, incoming siblings of current ESS students are considered "new" for registration purposes and will need to complete the ESS Interest Application for 2026-2027.

Students in Grades TK-4 currently on an ESS waitlist for the program must apply as a new student to the program for the 2026-2027 school year.
