Where your money goes...
Poway Unified School District continues to be one of the lowest funded K-12 districts in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The limited funding our school district receives from the state does not allow us to offer the depth and array of extra- and co-curricular experiences our students deserve and other students in our region receive.
Despite the pandemic and a year of distance learning for so many of our students, we want to make sure that all 36,000 students continue to flourish after an extremely challenging year. With your annual giving donation, the PUSD Foundation will continue to fund a variety of college and career activities, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) and academic competitions and leadership development opportunities including:
-
Annual Recognition Event for District Teachers, Classified Staff and Volunteers
-
Annual College and Career Day
-
Districtwide Professional Development Events
-
Incentives for Business Mentors to Participate in Student Projects
-
Junior Achievement (BizTown, JA Company Program, Finance Park and JA Ambassador Programs)
-
Level-Up Funding to Ensure Standard Experiences to Students Across the District
-
Field Trips related to STEAM
-
Support for Co-Curricular Leadership (e.g., FIRST Robotics, Lego League, Science Olympiad, CyberPatriot, DECA - for business students, Health Occupations Students of American (HOSA), and Future Farmers of American (FFA)
