  •   Book Fair

Shoal Creek's Arctic Adventure Book Fair returns October 7-11th.  Also returning is the digital payment option of e-wallet.  This exciting feature allows parents to create a free and secure account with a pre-approved spending limit.  You will only be billed for the amount spent and will never need to worry about losing any money sent in with your child!

Click to sign-up for the e-wallet or to volunteer!

  •   Fall FestivalĀ

Our Annual Fall Festival will be Friday October 25 from 5 to 8pm. We will have games, prizes, a DJ, costume contest, and tons of food. We are currently searching for parents who can help construct our Haunted House. We offer scary and non-scary times and this is a favorite attraction with our students. If you are interested in learning how you can help with the construction of our Haunted House please email Michelle Zeidler at this week.

  •   January Sports Night - reserve tickets now!

Ready for another Shoal Creek Sports Night? San Diego has a new professional lacrosse team, the San Diego Seals. Reserve your seat in our foundation block for Friday January 18th. Orders are due back by January 11th. Tickets are $18 and a portion of the proceeds help support Shoal Creek Education Foundation. Look for the order form coming home from school or attached to the newsletter.

  •   Save the Date! Multicultural Night

Shoal Creek will be hosting Multicultural Night on Thursday February 7th, from 5:30-7:30 PM in the MPR. To ensure this fun event is successful, we are looking for volunteers who are interested in representing their country and heritage in a cultural booth. Would you love to show other Shoal Creek families about your heritage through a craft or game, a performance or some traditional foods? Please email Noelle Bergmans at before January 22.

  •   Prepping for the Book Swap!

As many families begin the post-holiday purge, remember to save your books for the annual book swap this spring.  We are looking for anything from chapter books (appropriate for 7th grade and below please), graphic novels, manga, high interest, down to beginning readers.  More information to come in the future.

  •   Get Your Pictures in the Yearbook

Are you planning on taking pictures at school events, in your child’s classroom or during field trips? The Yearbook Team would love for you to share these memories with us so we can include them in the yearbook. Go to, find our school and click on ‘Community Upload’ or download the Yearbook Snap App on your phone and instantly send your pictures our way. Our school access code is Otters2020. In case of questions please contact us at

  •   PTA Membership DriveĀ

PTA Membership Drive Class Contest Update.  Mrs. Hagan's kindergarten class has taken the lead followed closely by Mrs. Ransom's first grade class.  Mr. Jones (4th grade) and Mrs. Kifer's (5th grade) classes are tied for third but there are still many classes in the running to win!  We will extend the deadline to October 15th.  Remember the winning class will receive a cotton candy party. Good luck!

You can join the PTA online at  Extra envelopes are located in the school office.

And remember, if we reach our school goal of 160 members, Mr. Atkins will dress as a superhero for the day.
