Procedures for Flyer Distribution to PUSD Families

Poway Unified School District (PUSD) works with approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organizations to share information with families through electronic flyers (e‑flyers). Flyers are posted online and emailed to parents using Peachjar. This paperless process supports environmental responsibility, modern communication, and cost savings.

Paper flyers from outside organizations are no longer distributed to students.


Flyer Submission and Approval Timeline

  • Deadline: Flyers must be submitted to Peachjar by 4:00 p.m. on Thursdays.
  • Review schedule: PUSD reviews and approves flyers Thursday afternoons after 4:00 p.m. only.
  • Posting:
    • If you select “Post Immediately,” your flyer will post Thursday afternoon.
    • If you select a future date, the flyer will post on that date.
  • Late submissions: Flyers submitted after the deadline will be reviewed the following Thursday.
  • Email delivery: Approved flyers are posted to school websites first. Parent emails may take up to 24 hours to send.

How to Request Flyer Approval

Once approved, your flyer will be emailed to parents and posted online.

  1. Review Board Policy and Procedures BP 1325 and AR 1325 (linked below).
  2. Visit ww.peachjar.com.
  3. Register as an Enrichment / Community Organization.
  4. Upload your flyer for approval.

Your flyer is automatically sent to the district for review. Flyers are approved or denied based on district standards. Peachjar charges a fee to outside organizations, which is typically less than the cost of printing and distributing paper flyers.

Important Note for PTAs and Foundations

If you are an official PTA or Foundation supporting a PUSD school, these instructions do not apply.

Flyers for PUSD Staff Only

If you want to share information with PUSD teachers, select “For District Staff” when uploading your flyer in Peachjar.

Appropriate content includes:

  • Student workshop or field trip opportunities
  • Low-cost or free, high-quality classroom materials

Flyer Requirements for Outside Organizations

All flyers must:

  • Support the district’s educational mission, benefit students/schools, or be of value to families
  • Be submitted in PDF format
  • Use font size 12 or larger
  • Include the name and contact information of the sponsoring organization
  • Be submitted in English
    • Valley Elementary: Spanish must also be included in the same document
    • Provide an accurate translation (Google Translate is not sufficient)
  • Follow Board Policy and Procedures BP 1325 and AR 1325
  • Include the following exact disclaimer in English and Spanish, , font size 12 or larger:

Flyers Will NOT Be Approved If They:

  • Are lewd, obscene, libelous, or slanderous
  • Encourage unlawful acts, rule violations, or school disruption
  • Promote political interests, candidates, parties, or ballot measures (unless all sides are equally represented as allowed by policy)
  • Promote or take sides on controversial issues
  • Discriminate against or attack any group
  • Promote illegal products or services, including tobacco, intoxicants, or materials unsuitable for children
  • Solicit funds or services, unless allowed by Board policy

Weekly Distribution Schedule

  • Friday is the designated day for electronic distribution of outside organization flyers.
  • Flyers must be submitted to Peachjar by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
  • No approvals are processed during holidays or district recesses.
  • Approved flyers are posted Thursday evening/Friday on school websites and emailed to parents.
