PTA NEWS: In Feb. we will be having a big box tops for education collection campaign with a coloring competition. We are asking families to sign up on http://www.boxtops4education.com/ to show support, enter a sweepstakes and receive coupons for money off box tops products.
RALPHS REWARD CARD at http://rewardyourschool.com/ .SRES will receive $0.50 as well as double box tops for each participating product bought at Ralphs between now and the end of March. If just 50 families from each grade level log on and register their cards SRES will receive $150! Add that to the almost $350 we already have in box tops and that's $500 for SRES to spend on equipment and books.
YOU CAN HELP CHANGE THE WORLD: The PTA has a challenge for us! They will donate $250 to the Haitian relief fund at the Red Cross. Their challenge to the Trailblazers is to match that! We can all reach into our pockets for that spare change and raise the $250 as a school to match the PTA and HELP this country so desperately in need. A donation jar is at the front desk.
GIRLS ON THE RUN starts next week! Girls on the Run is a life-changing, non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. The program is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:00. With the grants and donations that they have received in the last few months, Girls on the Run is able to provide scholarships for up to 7 girls at our school. Safety Reminder
A Safety Reminder to Our BIGGER Trailblazers, This is for those of you who bring their little Trailblazers here in cars. Take a deep breath when you enter the parking lot and REMEMBER THESE SIMPLE RULES:
- Drop off zone is ONE WAY only.
- Do not get out of your car if you are in the drive through loop - Use the right lane only!
- Students should exit their cars by the door next to the curb.
- Your little Trailblazer can open and close the door for him/herself.
- Shoes and jackets on! Backpacks zipped up and accessible. It is best if they are in the car by the student, rather than in the trunk.
- We don't want children walking between cars.
- Our staff is here to help open the doors & get the littlest Trailblazers out safely. ---Please treat them kindly!
- Please stay focused--Cell phones off in the parking lot.
Thanks for your cooperation! Remember -- Courtesy is Contagious!
