June Principal Message
It is so hard to believe the school year is wrapping
up! It has been a wonderful first year for me at Morning
Creek and I continue to feel grateful to be working with
such an incredible community.
I would like to wish our 5th
graders all the best as they transition to middle school and
continue their learning journey. We have been working with
the 6th grade teachers at Meadowbrook this year
to ensure our students have a smooth path from elementary to
middle school. Congratulations 5th graders and
best wishes for your bright futures!
I would also like to thank Jamie Downey
for her dedication and enthusiasm as President of the
Morning Creek Foundation. She has worked tirelessly
throughout the year supporting the Jog-a-thon, recycling and
the wonderful “A Country Affair” which provides much needed
funds for our school. We appreciate all of Jamie’s hard
work and support!
Everyone that attended Open House
received a blue form about Parent Involvement. We have many
opportunities for parents to be involved at Morning Creek.
Please return your forms to your child’s’ teacher. There
are openings on our School Site Council for 2008-09 for
parent volunteers. This committee oversees our School Plan
for Student Achievement and meets 4-5 times throughout the
year. I would like to thank Lisa Yon and Christine
Couturier for their dedicated service as members of the
School Site Council. They have volunteered their time and
support in so many ways and we are grateful!
I would also like to recognize and
applaud our phenomenal PTA! The beautiful display of
artwork in the MPR during Open House was organized and
decorated by our wonderful PTA leaders. I am constantly
amazed by the generosity of our PTA with their time and
support. A special thanks to Brigit Sheng for her
leadership as PTA President. She has done a fabulous job
and set the bar high for our incoming President, Charmaine
Quidachay.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful
summer break and I look forward to 2008-09 with great
excitement! Enjoy the summer!
Together, we create a better tomorrow.
