Poway Unified School District Long Range Facility Master Plan 2024 Update
The Long-Range Facilities Master Plan is designed to be a “living, breathing” document that will be updated and adapted over time. In fact, we began the first 'refresh' of the Long-Range Facility Master Plan in September of 2023. This refresh concluded in February 2024 and included in this document, provided the District with the opportunity to 1) incorporate capital improvement projects, which were completed between 2020 and 2023, into the plan; 2) re-assess and update the facilities condition index (FCI) related to each site; and 3) revisit the priorities and needs of each school, collaborating with principals and school communities to do so. The refresh also allowed us to (re-)quantify current facilities' needs district wide as we consider how to secure the requisite resources to accomplish the most critical projects.There is much work to do....

In keeping with this commitment, and recognizing that high-quality facilities contribute to a high-quality learning environment, Poway Unified embarked upon the development of a comprehensive Long-Range Facility Master Plan (LRFMP). The Plan sets a logical course of action for future capital improvements and facility management over the next ten (10) to fifteen (15) years. It is designed to be a “living, breathing” document that will be updated and adapted over time.

Community Facilities Committee (CFC)
The Community Facilities Committee is comprised of approximately 40 members that include local leaders, parents, teachers, district and site staff, business/community members, public safety professionals, and students to reflect the geographic and demographic diversity of the district. The Committee was formed in April 2019 and will complete its work in December 2019.
The Committee is charged to support the preparation of a Long-Range Facilities Master Plan (FMP) by identifying the community's priorities, representing stakeholders, conducting site visits to review facilities, contribute ideas regarding the development of the FMP, provide feedback to the District Leadership Team, and communicate to the community about the FMP and its findings.
