Health is course designed to teach students to take personal responsibility for lifelong health, including an understanding of the variety of physical, mental, emotional, and social changes that occur throughout life. Students will gain knowledge and develop skills in such areas as substance abuse, infectious and chronic diseases, decision-making and effective communication, nutrition and fitness, and family life and sex education. Throughout the course, students will develop understanding and respect for the health and well- being of others. With a passing grade, this course will satisfy the State and Poway Unified School District required Health units for graduation. This grade will be recorded on your official transcript.
Please note: There are no face-to-face meetings - all work is completed online.  There are weekly discussion boards, assignments, quizzes, projects and exams. There will be a midterm project and a final exam.  There are weekly deadlines that must be followed. You may work ahead but may not fall behind on assignments -   You must log-in through My Connect by midnight, June 18. All materials are available to students at the beginning of the course.
