Reopening Plans

NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL TINA ZIEGLER

April 2, 2021

Dear Wolverines,

We are so excited to continue our transition to on-campus learning! Recent changes by the CDC reducing physical distance requirement to 3 feet will allow us to combine our A and B Cohorts, for all grades 9-12. Starting April 5th, the first day of Quarter 4, students who have been designated as an on campus learner, may attend Monday through Thursday. A student may also choose to continue to come onto campus two days a week. If choosing this option, we request that students continue to come on their assigned cohort days (A on M/W; B on T/TH). Fridays will remain an asynchronous learning day.

If your student has opted to remain virtual and would like to return to campus, the request will be considered on a case by case basis as we continue to monitor class size maximum capacity within the physical distance requirements.

**IMPORTANT REMINDERS**

AGREEMENT FORMS MUST BE RETURNED FOR CAMPUS LEARNERS
Before returning to campus, students will need to complete and return the PUSD Student Agreement Form. If a student has not yet returned the form, they can turn it in on the first day of their return, or drop it off Monday-Friday 8:30 am-3:30 pm at the front gates. Once we receive the Student Agreement Form the student will receive their ID card.

STUDENT MUST BRING A DEVICE
As students prepare for the return, keep in mind that they should come ready to learn. This means they will need to bring a charged Chromebook/computer, charger, and headphones, in addition to the usual classroom supplies. If you need a district loaned device, please complete this Chromebook check out form.

We must continue to observe our health and safety guidelines by wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and washing their hands. Lastly, the CDPH guidelines ask that we continue using the "COVID Student/Staff Pre-Entry Screening Process" questions and look for possible symptoms when they enter, but it is no longer necessary to take temperatures. CDPH recommends that:

  • Parents will be provided with the list of COVID-19 symptoms and instructed to keep their child at home if the child is feeling ill or has symptoms of COVID-19, even if the symptoms are very mild, and to get their ill child tested for SARS-CoV2. This information is also available in the PUSD Health and Safety Agreement Form.
  • Staff members will be provided with the list of COVID-19 symptoms and be instructed to call in sick and stay home if having symptoms of COVID-19 and to get tested for SARS-CoV2.
Note: If a student or staff member has chronic allergic or asthmatic symptoms (e.g., cough or runny nose), then a change in their symptoms from baseline would be considered a positive symptom.

FOOD SERVICES AT WESTVIEW
All students can enjoy a hot meal daily! The school lunch program is providing students with hot or cold lunches everyday. The food service is located in the plaza in front of the covered lunch area everyday.
