Shannon Parker

ASB Director

Shannon Parker has worked at Westview since 2003 and currently serves our school as the ASB Director. She oversees our student government and works with them to plan activities to improve school climate and promote a spirit of community on our campus. As the ASB director, she provides guidance and direction to all student programs and clubs to ensure that legal responsibilities and procedures are followed. In addition she reviews student budgets, financial reports and transactions. Ultimately her goal is to increase student engagement through creative activities in order to foster a caring and inclusive school environment. She believes strong academics complimented by a vibrant activities program are key to student success.

Shannon Parker has over 19 years of experience in education. Prior to ASB, she began her educational career as a Dance teacher. Upon graduating from Cal Poly SLO with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, she was hired as a part time faculty member for Cal Poly's School of Performing Arts where she served as a jazz and modern teacher. She began her tenure at Westview as the dance teacher and coached Westview's nationally ranked dance troupe for 13 years. In 2008, Shannon was named the CA Dance Director of the year, in 2015 was named Westview Teacher of the Year, and in May of 2018 was honored as NBC 7's Most Inspirational Teacher of the month.

Shannon brings with her a passion for travel, performing arts and unique coffee houses. She enjoys unwinding with her husband and two children by hiking, working out or going to the beach with their two dogs.
