Are you interested in an ASB position for 2020-2021?  If so, please read on!
 
There are numerous leadership opportunities in ASB.  These include commissioners, executives, and class presidents.  All interested students will run as an individual for a single position.  Applicants are not permitted to run in conjunctions with another applicant/position.  Please see below for important dates and additional information on each of these.
 
ASB Election Timeline:
  • Tuesday, December 17th: Lunch information meeting in the ASB room (B128) for all interested in a commissioner position.  Please click here for a link to the presentation. 
  • Wednesday, December 18th: Lunch information meeting in the ASB room (B128) for all interested in class president or vice president.  Please click here for a link to the presentation. 
  • Tuesday, January 7th: Lunch meeting in the ASB room to answer final questions regarding the ASB application or election process.
  • Thursday, January 9th (end of lunch/1:47pm): Last day for all applications and written copy of class president/executive speech (30 second time limit) to be turned in to the ASB room.  No exceptions!
  • Week of January 13th: Campaigning Week & Interviews (Class Presidents and Executive Applicants only).   
  • Friday, January 17th: Staff Recommendation Due; Elections during homeroom for Class Presidents and Executive Applicants.
  • Week of January 27th: Interviews for Commissioner Applicants.
  • Friday, February 14th: All commissioner applicants are contacted via phone regarding their acceptance.

ASB Commissioners:
All DNHS students are eligible to apply for a commissioner position.  ASB Commissioner positions are a full year commitment, and all ASB Commissioners are required to enroll in the ASB class third trimester of this school year and first and second trimester of next school year.  All applicants must have earned at least a 2.5 GPA in trimester 1 of 2019 with satisfactory citizenship grades.

ASB Executives:
There are a total of eight ASB Executive positions available.  Interested students must be a current junior at DNHS and presently serving as an ASB commissioner or class president/vice president, with the exception of ASB Executive of Finance.  Students interested in ASB Executive of Finance can be a current sophomore or junior who will have served as a commissioner of finance for at least one year prior to the start of third trimester of the current school year.  ASB Executive positions are a full year commitment, and all ASB Executives are required to enroll in the ASB class third trimester of this school year and first and second trimester of next school year.  All applicants must have earned at least a 2.5 GPA in trimester 1 of 2019 with satisfactory citizenship grades.  Please read the campaign guidelines, linked below, thoroughly, and visit the ASB room with any questions.

Class Presidents:
There are a total of two presidents per class: one president and one vice president.  All DNHS students are eligible to apply for class president or vice president.  Both Class president positions are a full year commitment, and all class presidents/vice presidents are required to enroll in the ASB class for all three trimesters of the next school year.  All applicants must have earned at least a 2.5 GPA in trimester 1 of 2019 with satisfactory citizenship grades.  Please read the campaign guidelines, linked below, thoroughly, and visit the ASB room with any questions.
