Athletic Exemption P.E. – Important things you need to know.
 

P.E. Waiver paperwork can't be issued by coaches or counselors.  You must attend a mandatory lunch meeting to be eligible for a P.E. Waiver.  All documents are handed out during the meeting.  The Athletic Director or Administrative Designee handle P.E. Waivers.  Please contact the Athletic Director for individual questions.  Please read below for important additional information.
 
  1. You must attend a mandatory meeting during one of the in season dates listed below to receive your PE exemption form.
  2. You do not qualify for an athletic exemption form if you are currently in a P.E. class, OCIS or are a freshman.
  3. Academic ineligibility, excessive absences and/or injury may disqualify the exemption.
  4. It's the student’s responsibility to fulfill the sport’s requirements and to return completed paperwork by deadline dates.
  5. Trimester 3, NO seniors can apply for a PE exemption in Tri 3.
  6. Minimum of 6 hours per week participation in practice and/or games.
  7. Minimum of 12 weeks of participation.
  8. Attended a minimum of 90% of all practices and activities based on coaches attendance records.
Mandatory Athletic Exemption Meeting Dates
  • Fall Sport– Tuesday, September 5, 2017 or Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the beginning of student lunch, in the Nighthawk Center.  Meetings will start promptly, 5 minutes after lunch bell. Turn in deadline for P.E. Exemption form will be Wednesday, September 13, 2017. 
  • Winter Sport- Wednesday, November 29, 2017 or Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the beginning of student lunch, in the Nighthawk Center.  Meetings will start promptly, 5 minutes after lunch bell.  Turn in deadline for P.E. Exemption form will be Thursday, December 7, 2017.
  • Spring Sport- Wednesday, February 28, 2018 or Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the beginning of student lunch, in the Nighthawk Center.  Meetings will start promptly, 5 minutes after lunch bell.  Turn in deadline for P.E. Exemption form will be Thursday, March 8, 2018.
