The Second Step Program

Posted Date: 3/27/2018
Students at Valley in Transitional Kindergarten through Fifth grade receive Second Step lessons

The Second Step program, which is being taught to all students TK-5th grade, is a classroom-based social-emotional learning program with lessons and reinforcement activities designed to increase children’s school success and decrease problem behaviors.  This year we have included a few lessons for TK as well.

It teaches skills that strengthen children’s ability to learn, have empathy, manage emotions, and solve problems.

When children have Second Step skills it creates a safer, more respectful learning environment that promotes school success for all.

Parents can learn more about the Second Step program and ways to help your child by going to www.secondstep.org and using the activation keys listed below.
