  •   February is African American History Month

African Americans have played an important role in creating and defining our nation.  Our school library displays black history books and classroom activities include biographies of influential African Americans.  Our school librarian, Mrs. Kate Porter, reads and promotes stories and biographies that students can read and check out for home reading.  We share biographies and quotes during our morning announcements throughout the month of African American History Month, as well as during our Friday Flag ceremony.

  •   Kindness Crew

Parents of students grades 3-5, please remind your children that the Kindness Crew, otherwise known as the K-Crew begins Tuesday October 2nd during your child’s lunch recess. Counselor Katie MacLeod will be running the club that will focus on “coloring Garden Road in kindness”!  Each week the crew will meet to do kind deeds for different members of our community. Any parents interested in volunteering to help run the club are encouraged to reach out to Katie at kmacleod@powayusd.com
