Subsidized Bus Pass Options

General Transportation Subsidized Pass Options

You may apply for a Free Pass online (link below) or in person. A separate application is required for each student, and requalification is required each semester.

Required Documents for Applying

  • Application for School Bus Pass: One application for each student.
  • One of the following:
    • CalFresh Benefits: Complete Appendix A (pages 9–10) and attach your current CalFresh benefits letter.
    • Food and Nutrition Direct Certification: Complete Appendix A (pages 9–10) and attach your current certification letter.
    • Foster Status: Provide a copy of your Foster-Parent Agreement.

    • Income-Based Service: Complete Appendix A (pages 9–10) and see requirements below.

Income-Based Verification Requirements

If applying based on income, you must also provide:

  1. Current Lease/Rental Agreement: The page showing the monthly rent amount, names of all occupants, and contact information.
  2. Bank Statements: The two most recent statements for all occupants (used to verify income deposits).
  3. Proof of Income: The two most recent months of income for all working adults.

Accepted Income Documentation

Income Type Required Documents
Earnings / Wages Two months of most recent pay stubs or an employer letter stating income.
Social Security / Pension Benefit letter or pension award notice.
Unemployment / Disability Notice of eligibility from the State, disability award letter, or check stubs.
Self-Employed Profit & Loss statement for the last 2 months.
Public Assistance CalWORKs Notice of Action or Statement.
Child Support / Alimony Court decree or agreement, or copies of checks received.
Other Income Documentation for cash from investments, trusts, savings, or family assistance.
No Income A brief note explaining how you obtain food, clothing, and necessities.
