E-Bike Safety Requirements for Secondary Students

To support student safety and respond to community feedback, PUSD has partnered with local law enforcement to introduce:

  • A required safety training video
  • An e-bike permit process at all secondary school sites

Students who ride e-bikes to school must complete these requirements.

Parents/guardians must register the e-bike’s make, model, and VIN with the school to receive a parking sticker.

E-Bikes at Elementary Schools

To protect younger students, e-bikes are not allowed on any elementary school campus.

This guideline aligns with City of Poway regulations (effective late 2025), and the new City of San Diego ordinance (effective August, 2026) which do not allow children under age 12 to operate e-bikes.
