Poway Unified - Career Technical Education (CTE) Credit By Exam - Articulation
Overview
Some Poway Unified Career Technical Education courses are articulated, or aligned with courses at community colleges. These courses are evaluated by college faculty and offer the chance for students to complete the course and get college credit when they receive a "B" or better in the class AND on the end of course exam. These courses are taught by high school teachers on campus, and there is no additional cost to the student. Most classes are transferrable to 4-year colleges and universities, and there is no penalty for an attempted course on college transcripts - unlike Dual Enrollment.
How to Receive Articulated College Credit
Students should work with their counselor to enroll in an articulated course and navigate the steps required to receive free college credit. A CCCID will be required, and students will need to enroll with the partnering community college.
