Poway Unified Introduces New Mass Communications Platform

SAN DIEGO — Poway Unified School District has introduced a new mass communications platform to strengthen communications between families, staff, and educators.

The district will soon finalize its transition to using Final Site as its new mass communications platform to replace Blackboard Connect as the district’s communications platform. The new system makes it easier for school and district staff to create and send targeted messages, manage contact lists, and integrate tools like Smore newsletters. For families, the platform will deliver clearer, more accessible communications with improved translation accuracy and messages that are better tailored to the information most relevant to them.

“Our families have consistently shared that strong communication with their schools is a priority,” said Josué Reyna, Chief Communications Officer for Poway Unified School District. “This transition is an important step in responding to that feedback and improving how we share timely, relevant information with our community.”

Poway Unified schools have already transitioned to the new platform, and the district is continuing to refine the system as part of the rollout. Families do not need to take any action, though they may notice minor differences in how messages appear as adjustments are made. The transition supports the district’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and aligns with the district's Goal #2: Community Engagement, which prioritizes strong partnerships and clear communication with families and the broader community.
