On Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Poway Unified School District Board of Education approved a revised student academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.
Changes under the revised calendar include:
- Moves the first day of school from August 12 to August 13
- Reschedules Professional Growth Day on September 28 to August 10
- Moves High School Only Non-Student Day from October 26 to November 16

District staff, in collaboration with the Calendar Committee representing certificated and classified, student learning, and transportation staff, recommended revising the Board approved 2026-2027 student academic calendar in order to optimize instructional and operational efficiency.
