SAN DIEGO, CA - More than 80 student musicians from Poway Unified School District have been selected to perform in elite statewide and regional honor ensembles, a distinction that places them among California’s most accomplished young performers.
Students were chosen for the California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC) Honor Ensembles, selected from a pool of more than 1,000 students across the state. CASMEC brings together top musicians for intensive rehearsals and performances under the direction of nationally recognized conductors.
Additional Poway Unified students were selected for the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Honor Ensembles, chosen from more than 1,200 students throughout Southern California.
Selection to either honor ensemble is considered one of the highest achievements for student musicians, requiring a rigorous audition process and demonstrating exceptional talent. The district congratulates the following students for earning this outstanding recognition:
