Thirty five Westview Navy JROTC cadets flew Navy Air out of NAS North Island to Oahu on Monday, November 24, to visit the USS Arizona Memorial and Pearl Harbor. The trip wasn't all work as the cadets were able to take in an Hawaiian luau and get some brief beach time. Lodging was onboard MCAS Kanoehe and the group departed back to the mainland the next day. It was a great whirlwind tour!

Entertainment books

Westview Foundation is selling Entertainment Books for $40, or the Value Book for $20, available from parent volunteers at the reception desk. They make great holiday gifts!

There will be a meeting at lunch on Tuesday, December 2, in D118 to discuss the student-written One Act Play Festival.

Choral Winter Concert

The Choral Department presents their annual winter concert
December 5 & 6 at 7:00pm. Tickets on sale Wednesday–Friday in the quad during lunch. $6 for General Reserved and $9 for Premium.

College Fair

A college fair, sponsored by the Career Council & National Hispanic College Fairs, will be in San Diego on Monday, December 8. This college fair, open to all juniors and seniors, occurs during the school day with students missing 1st and 2nd period. However, we will provide transportation and students will be accompanied by an adult. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet college representatives, obtain information and brochures. If you are interested in attending, please see Miss Bloomfield in the Wolverine Center for more details.

Dance Concert

Celebrate the holidays with music and movement! The Westview Dance Troupe invites you to attend “Tis The Season To Be Dancing." Performances will be held December 17, 18 & 19, 7:00pm in the Westview Theatre. Preorder tickets available through our website - $10 & $12 reserved - or email Bonnie Stark. Tickets will also be sold during lunch starting December 11.

Information from the Counseling Department:
1. UC/CSU application deadline is November 30.
2. Applying to a private college? Need a letter of recommendation from your counselor? See your counselor today! Deadlines are approaching fast!
3. Does the private college need your official transcript now? The registrar processes them within four days and the cost per transcript is $4.00.

Girls lacrosse information meeting

Parents, please plan on attending an information meeting on Monday, December 1, 7:00pm in Room D115-117 if your daughter is interested in playing lacrosse in the upcoming season. The coaching staff and steering committee board will answer questions about the program including pre-season conditioning and play, try-outs, equipment, volunteer opportunities, etc.

Gift card donations

Westview PTSA and ASB are holding a Gift Card Drive to support the PUSD Adopt-A-Family Program. To donate a gift card, please bring it to your homeroom teacher no later than Friday, December 5. If you are interested in adopting a family, contact Elsie Delletorri (858-484-4324) by November 21.
