For those interested in writing a script for the One Act Festival, scripts are due on Monday, 11/30/09.

Adopt-A-Family 
Westview PTSA's holiday Adopt-A-Family program is now underway. This program benefits PUSD families in need. Many of our classrooms have adopted families this holiday season. In addition, the program is particularly in need of gift cards for grocery stores, gas stations, and department stores like Target or Wal-Mart.  If you would like to make a donation, gift cards can be dropped off with Kathy Bloomfield in the Wolverine Center through Friday, December 4th. Fundraising for School Groups
Borders offers the opportunity over the holiday season for school groups to raise money by gift wrapping for donations.    Please pass this information on to your school groups.  Contact Diane Hendersen at Borders – Carmel Mountain via e-mail or call 858-618-1814.

Holiday Gift Drive
The Westview Care House Club is running a holiday gift drive benefiting those in need from Nov 9- Dec 11th throughout the school. We are asking students to bring in gifts for other youth to give to their parents for the holidays.  Boxes have been set up throughout homeroom classes on Monday.  If your class needs a box contact Mr. Subbiah.

Navy JROTC Gets Underway 
Twenty-five Navy JROTC cadets recently earned their "Sea Cruise" ribbon aboard a Navy MP Utility craft in the San Diego Bay.  The MP is a new addition to the Navy's sea to shore logistics fleet and can haul 30 passengers at speeds in excess of 40 knots.  Each cadet was given the opportunity to drive the craft and learned basic seamanship and waterway "rules of the road."
