GATE Testing

The request window for GATE testing is open until November 30th. There is only one test this year which will be held at TBES on Monday, January 11, 2010. Please feel free to contact Jennifer Fries for more information. Parents can also visit the district's GATE web page.

CHARACTER COUNTS! Week

CHARACTER COUNTS! Week is November 16th to the 20th! The kids will focus on the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

Flu & Cold Season

With the flu and cold season coming upon us, please remember that we must have written permission for students to carry and take cough drops or throat lozenges. Chapstick, sunscreen and contact lens solution also requires a parent consent form. K-2 students need to bring the note and item to the office.

Cheetah Challenge

We're implementing a great opportunity that was created by one of our very own TBES student, Ashley B., called the Cheetah Reading Challenge. The challenge is to have Tierra Bonita students read one million pages by the end of the year. If each student reads 12 pages a day, we can make our goal. A reading challenge log will be coming home and is also available online. Simply fill out the title of the books read, number of pages, parent signature and turn it in to the office or classroom teacher. Ashley and her team of accountants will add up the pages throughout the year. A ‘Read-O-Meter’ will highlight our progress at each Friday Flag. “Let’s Get Reading!”
