Sundevil Way Success Guide

A different kind of Student Handbook.  Learn about some expectations and suggestions for success in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities and in the community. Everything you need to know about having a successful four years at MC: course choices, specialized pathways, where to get help, how to become more involved and common learning tools in our classes.  This will be updated throughout the year on-line and all 9th graders will receive a hard copy on Day 1!

Students who will be paying with cash or check will now drop off money at the Cafeteria. We no longer accept money at the front desk.

Homework Club

Monday through Thursday our is open until 4pm for general study and/or use of a computer.  Starting August 31,  we will also begin to have support for students needing some help.  On Monday and Thursday of each week there will be a Math and Biology teacher available to assist.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be an English teacher available to assist.  Teachers will be available from 2:45 to 3:15pm Monday through Thursday. 

Learning Support Sessions

Tuesday, September 1, and Thursday, September 3, will be the launch of the Sundevil Way Learning Support workshops.  They take place T/Th of each week from 2:45 – 3:15, in the Library Reference Room,  with varying topics.  Topics can be found on the Google calendar on this web page.  September 1 will focus on organization of the binder(s)/backpack.  September 3 will focus on a note taking method called SQ5R.  They are used in all Science classes, but can be used anywhere.  If your child is lacking any note taking style, please have them come by.  An example and explanation of note taking can also be found the Sundevil Way Success Guide

Senior Yearbook Portrait Information

 All seniors must schedule an appointment with the official senior portrait studio Visual Photograph. All seniors must be photographed by the end of summer to meet yearbook publishing deadlines. Friday Bell Schedule

Mt. Carmel Bell Schedule is located on the right side of the MCHS website under Quick Links. There you will find the regular bell schedule and upcoming special bell schedules. Most FRIDAYS are late start days with 1st period beginning at 8:40am. The following dates are NOT late start Fridays and will run on the Monday/Tuesday regular schedule: August 28, November 6 and November 13.

MCHS Student Tutors

Attention MCHS 10th, 11th and 12th Graders.  Are you interested in being a student tutor for volunteer or hire? MCHS is creating a student tutor list to be available upon request in the Sun Center for MCHS students only.   Applications are available in the Sun Center or you may download by clicking HERE.  The application will require a teacher’s signature verifying proficiency in the subject area. Deadline to submit the application to Ms. Fisher in the Sun Center is Friday, September 4
