Sundevil Way Success Guide
A different kind of Student Handbook. Learn about some
expectations and suggestions for success in the classroom, in extra-curricular
activities and in the community. Everything you need to know about having a
successful four years at MC: course choices, specialized pathways, where to get
help, how to become more involved and common learning tools in our classes.
This will be updated throughout the year on-line and all 9th graders
received a hard copy on Day 1!

Online Lunch Payments
SchoolPaymentSolutions.com has moved to MySchoolBucks.com. We have a new name and a new look, but we're as committed as ever to providing you with an easy, convenient way to make school payments. Students who will be paying with cash or check will now drop off money at the Cafeteria. We no longer accept money at the front desk.

Before and after School Traffic Flow

Monday through Thursday our library is open until 4pm for general study and/or use of a computer. We also have support for students needing some help. On Monday and Thursday of each week there is a Math and Biology teacher available to assist. On Tuesday and Wednesday, there is an English teacher available to assist. Teachers are available from 2:45 to 3:15pm Monday through Thursday.
Learning Support Sessions
Tuesday, September 1, and Thursday, September 3, will be the launch of the Sundevil Way Learning Support workshops. They take place T/Th of each week from 2:45 – 3:15, in the Library Reference Room, with varying topics. Topics can be found on the Google calendar on this web page. September 1 will focus on organization of the binder(s)/backpack. September 3 will focus on a note taking method called SQ5R. They are used in all Science classes, but can be used anywhere. If your child is lacking any note taking style, please have them come by. An example and explanation of note taking can also be found the Sundevil Way Success Guide.
Front Desk Policy
We will not accept items at the front desk to be delivered
to or picked up by students, such as lunches, beverages, phones, money, birthday
balloons/flowers/gifts, class projects, homework, clothing, pizza delivery, etc.
The volume and value of items left have become too great to manage and take
liability for. Thank you for your understanding.

Friday Bell Schedule
Mt. Carmel Bell Schedule is located on the right side of the MCHS website under Quick Links. There you will find the regular bell schedule and upcoming special bell schedules. Most FRIDAYS are late start days with 1st period beginning at 8:40am. The following dates are NOT late start Fridays and will run on the Monday/Tuesday regular schedule: November 6 and November 13.

The PSAT/NMSQT given on October 14, 2015 is a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT Reasoning Test. It also gives 11th graders a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) scholarship programs. We will have a modified bell schedule for all grades on test day.
New Procedures for Student Parking
Beginning January 2016, students applying for a MCHS parking permit must attend a Start Smart driving class with their parent.
