Greetings Del Sur Explorers!

During the week of November 16 to 20, our teachers will be holding parent-teacher conferences. We feel this is a very important time where we continue to form a strong partnership in supporting the academic and social/emotional needs of each of our students. This is when teachers will be conferencing with parents throughout the day. November 17 to 20, school will be dismissed at 1:10pm each day.

Parent conferences are designed to better familiarize the classroom teacher with your child, recognize your child’s strengths and needs, to develop your child’s instructional goals together, and to coordinate home/school support. Thank you in advance for attending this conference. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to help your child succeed in terms of the grade level standards.

Parents, thank you for your continued support of all of our programs at Del Sur.During the previous three months, I have had the opportunity to meet with our various parent and student groups on campus – the PTA, our Educational Foundation, our ELL committee, and School Site Council. It is always a pleasure to have an opportunity to sit down and meet with these various groups. As we look at school-wide issues, individual committee input is always helpful as it shapes our future goals and endeavors. Thank you parents and students for being part of these committees and organizations and lending your voice to important conversations.

Del Sur PTA is so excited to announce that our school will be participating again in the APEX FUN RUN this year as our major PTA fundraiser! We had an amazing Apex Fun Run last year and profited $33,000! The first 10% of the funds went to the teachers to spend in their classrooms. The rest helped us continue our PE program with our wonderful PE TEACHER along providing the school with $15,000 for the purchase of new Chromebooks.

**Please check the Lost And Found cart. All items left will be removed on Friday afternoon, November 20, and donated to a charity.

PTA DINE OUT EVENT at FLIPPIN' PIZZA 4S Ranch!! - Mark your calendars for Tuesday, DECEMBER 1st. This DINE OUT will be from 5-9pm!! 50% of the proceeds are donated to the Del Sur PTA!! Plus, each student from the class with the highest participation will receive a free slice of pizza at Flippin' Pizza so make sure you sign in on the sign in sheet for your class to win. Skip the Thanksgiving leftovers and dine in or take out, and come help us roll in the "dough" to support our school while enjoying a night of family and friends!

You did an excellent job "Kicking off the School Year with Box Tops and Labels!"  We submitted over $800 of Box Tops alone for this contest.  That's amazing, and we thank you all for contributing!  This contest has now closed, so it is time to announce our WINNERS!
