Greetings Explorer Families,

I would like to thank the many families who supported our biggest fundraiser event of the year – Night at the Ranch - Havana Nights. I would like to thank our amazing Educational Foundation and all of the volunteers who worked countless hours in making this a special evening. Thanks Del Sur community for continually supporting our school. We are so blessed to have this support each year.

Also, I would like to thank all of the students who participating in our Science Fair last Friday. It was so exciting to see the many projects students produced.

Our Superintendent, Dr. Collins, sent a PUSD Family message last month about four upcoming Community Forums the District is holding over the next several weeks to receive input on developing a vision for “Personalized Learning.” Read this important message by visiting our District website at www.powayusd./depts/Super/messages.shtml. I hope our Del Sur community will be an active part of this process. I will be attending the Community Forum on Wednesday, April 1 at Oak Valley Middle School. I hope you can join me at this Forum and help ensure the voice of Del Sur is part of the conversation. Thank you in advance.

As part of our effort to provide the most effective educational environment for your child, we are joining with all other schools in the Poway Unified School District to conduct a parent survey. Please find the link to a short survey you can complete on line or one can complete a paper survey that we have available in the office. Please complete this survey for your child (or children) at this school. All responses will be anonymous. We plan to use the information we receive to help us set goals and evaluate achievement of our school and district initiatives and set funding priorities as part of our Local Control Accountability Plan. Thank you for your assistance by providing your feedback. So far 20 percent of our parents have completed the survey. Thanks so much for your feedback.

Del Sur Heritage Night Planning Committee Members Needed: Currently we are in need of parent help in planning and organizing Del Sur's 1st Annual Heritage Night scheduled for late May or early June. If you would like to help share your family's rich cultural heritage with our Del Sur Community, or if you would just like to lend a helping hand, please contact Mrs. Hilary Balanon at hcuevasbalanon@powayusd.com for further information. There will be a meeting on April 2nd at 2:45pm in room 210.

PTA DINE OUT EVENT AT CHIPOTLE 4S Ranch!! - Mark your calendars for Wednesday, APRIL 22ND. This DINE OUT will be from 5-8pm!! 50% of the proceeds are donated to the Del Sur PTA!! This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! You can order online before you arrive to avoid the line. Come out to support your school and enjoy a night of friends and family!

Garden Club
Garden Club is open to all students, Grades 1-5. Kinders and Preschool students need to have an adult with them. If your child is in ESS, simply alert ESS that you would like your child to attend Garden Club. ESS students will be escorted back to ESS at the end of Garden Club.

Box Top Contest Results
You did an excellent job "Filling our Pot with Box Tops and Labels Gold!" We collected a little under 6000 Box Tops and Labels for Education in this contest. That's amazing, and we thank you all for contributing! This contest has now closed, so it is time to announce our WINNERS!

1st Place WINNER is Mrs. Epperson's class turning in 670 Box Tops and Labels. She will receive a $50 giftcard.

This is it! Your LAST CHANCE to pre-order the 2014-2015 school yearbook!!
