Poway Unified Career Technical Education Hosts 1st Annual CTE Expo

Poway Unified School District Career Technical Education students showcased their learning at the first annual CTE Student Expo.  Students from middle schools and high schools across the district demonstrated innovative projects and real-world learning for parents, business partners, and district leadership.  The CTE Expo represented CTE programs from various Industry Sectors, including:  Agriculture & Natural Resources, Arts, Media, & Entertainment, Information and Communication Technology, Engineering and Architecture, Public Services, and Transportation.  Students enrolled in Career Technical Education coursework are encouraged to use their academic and technical knowledge to solve real-world problems, create meaningful products, and explore future careers. 

 

Soccer Legend Visits Westview High School

US Soccer Legend Landon Donovan and Soccer City SD recently visited John Joseph Nacu's Graphic Design Class at Westview High School to critique student projects on
bringing Major League Soccer to San Diego.  Congratulations to all the Westview High School students involved on a job well done.
 

 

RBHS Digital Media Wins at iVie

 
The iVie Awards are an annual awards ceremony and film festival honoring students for innovative videos in education.  

Noelle Betz (pictured), a Junior at Rancho Bernardo HS, wins the Grand Recognition Award for her film "Unmedicated" at the 16th annual iVie Awards ceremony.  Noelle won best Documentary as well.  Out of over 400 submissions, Rancho Bernardo HS had 6 nominations in 4 of the categories: Global Village, PSA, Documentary, and Cross Curricular.
