STEM CHALLENGE Information
Twin Peaks STEM Challenge is a special, semester-long RAM class open to 8th-grade students only. Students admitted to the program take part in project-based learning activities every day in place of a regular 8th-grade RAM class. Mrs. Jennifer Faulkner is the teacher guiding and facilitating these student-directed projects.
Objective: The program is intended to explore and encourage accelerated, self-directed learning through projects related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Projects are conceived, planned and executed by teams of up to 5 students and can include scientific research, community and environmental projects, educational outreach, technology development or applications, participation in STEM-related competitions and more. The teacher’s role is to guide, advise, provide resources and facilitate the work of student teams from project inception to completion.
