What is a SURF Leader
SURF Leaders help to establish an environment on each campus where a safe and supportive school is a reality for all students. Leaders use a variety of methods, which are designed to break down the walls of segregation between groups on campus, foster positive relations for the entire student body, and create activities that have been shown to build connections and meaningful participation for students.

How Can I Get Involved with Team SURF?
Students who are interested in joining Team SURF are encouraged to apply during the Spring application period. The application process begins with completing an application, which includes obtaining recommendations from teachers and a parent, along with writing a short essay. Also, students participate in a group interview process. The SURF advisors will then take this information into consideration to determine the best fit for Team SURF.

If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact Mr. Roger Coloma, SURF Advisor (, 858-748-5131, x2813).
