Sixth Grader Welcome Letter from Dr. Burke
Hello incoming 6th grade Rams!

We are so excited to add you to our Ram family and introduce you to the Ram Way. The Ram Way is our school-wide effort to build an inclusive school climate and ensure all students are successful. In order to make your 6th grade experience the best it can possibly be, our WEB Team (Where Everybody Belongs) would like to invite you to our 6th grade orientation event on either Monday, August 13th or Tuesday, August 14th from 8 AM to noon. This orientation is completely optional; however, it will enable you to meet other students who are coming to Twin Peaks from a variety of elementary schools, tour our ever-improving campus, and provide you with an 8th grade mentor so you have an experienced buddy on campus starting out on day one! Students will participate in team building activities designed to build self-confidence, increase school spirit and create fun memories with new friends.

We invite our 6th graders with last names beginning A to L to come on Monday, August 13th and those with last names beginning with M to Z to come on Tuesday, August 14th. We know some of you will be unable to attend due to vacation plans. If you can’t attend one date, please attend the other. If neither works, please email Mrs. Hamilton at chamilton@powayusd.com so we can make other arrangements to connect with you. It is important to us that you are feeling okay about starting middle school. There is no need to R.S.V.P, just show up with a positive attitude and an open mind and we will take care of the rest!

Parents, for your convenience, we will be selling PE clothes and locks from 8-9 both mornings.
They will also be available at registration, but buying them early will save you some time in line. Shirts are $10; shorts are $15; and locks are $5, payable by cash or check. The clothes are optional; your student can wear any black athletic shorts and a gray t-shirt for PE. Please notify the counseling office of any financial hardship and we will make sure your child gets what he or she needs.

We are looking forward to meeting each and every one of you and preparing you for the best school year of your life!

See you soon!
