Assessment
During the restructuring of our curriculum we have realized a need to completely restructure our assessment procedures. The focus of our assessment is each student's understanding of concepts and their ability to apply these concepts to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle.
We have designed assessment tools to measure our student's performance and expected outcomes. These tools represent a variety of methods including; reflection, self -evaluation, written tests, peer assessment, group assessment, physical profile cards, portfolio entries, journal entries, teacher observation, assignment completion, cooperative activities and homework. We use these tools to help each student cognitively understand who they are physically and emotionally.
For the sixth and seventh grade programs (8th grade program to be developed and implemented next school year) we have designed tools to measure the individual components that make up our programs.
