Mission: Students are at the heart of Oak Valley and meeting their needs is our first priority.

Principal's Message

Principal Casey Currigan

Welcome to Oak Valley Middle School! It is my honor to resume the role of Principal, and to continue the mission: “Students are at the heart of Oak Valley, and meeting their needs is our first priority”. I look forward to expanding the visionary goals and expectations already set by the dynamic staff of Oak Valley.

Our goal is to challenge your child academically, assist their social and emotional development, and direct them toward the “Habits of Mind” that support the District’s vision of graduating students who are “College and Career Ready”. We will guide students toward our expectations that they display good character and make positive choices. I am looking forward to a great school year filled with rigorous instruction and valuable learning experiences that will support the student’s progress toward success.

The strength of our school culture is increased by our relationships. The active participation of students, staff, families, and community organizations are vital to move Oak Valley forward. I encourage you to be active in our PTSA, Foundation or School Site Council and I welcome the opportunity to meet all of you.

Communication is vital to ensure that students have a positive experience in middle school. This Student Handbook contains information to assist you throughout the year. Each Friday, we send out our Weekly Update email. This update includes upcoming events at our school and important calendar dates. You can also read our Weekly Update at: http://www.powayusd.com/en-US/Schools/MS/OVMS/Campus-Info/Communications/ConnectEd-Messages.

Please note: In an effort to save money, we will be sharing most of our information with you through our webpage and email. If you need hard copies of our weekly updates, please call our office at (858) 487-2939. Sincerely, Casey Currigan
