AVID ~ 7th and 8th Grades
What is AVID Humanities?
AVID is a class that strives to make kids more prepared in class. AVID helps with improving study skills and helping students stay organized. AVID builds confidence in kids to make them work for their goals and achieve happiness in what they want to do in life. In 7th and 8th grade, AVID is part of the students humanities course. The humanities course is a 2 period Language Arts block and Social Studies. The AVID humanities course is not more work, but it is a different style and foundation of teaching. It is designed to support them across their other courses, build an AVID family, and teach them the skills and foundation to not just get into a university but to be successful while in college.
