AVID Humanties (7th & 8th Grades)
AVID Elective (6th Grade)

AVID is a class that strives to make kids more prepared in class. AVID helps with improving study skills and helping students stay organized. AVID builds confidence in kids to make them work for their goals and achieve happiness in what they want to do in life.


ASB - Associated Student Body (7th & 8th Grades)
ASB (Associated Student Body) is a class that focuses on enhancing the middle school experience by planning spirit days along with grade level and school wide activities.

Leadership (6th Grade)
The 6th grade Leadership class will help lead the school in spirit and community service activities.


Humanities / Yearbook (8th Grade)
The Humanities/Yearbook class is unique to Mesa Verde and is only open to current 8th graders.  It is a three-period humanities block, like all other 8th grade humanities classes, but it is also responsible for creating the school yearbook.

Advanced ELA (7th Grade)
Advanced ELA (6th Grade)

The Advanced English-Language Arts (ELA) course is designed for students who demonstrate strong reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.   This course encourages students to grow and take risks as they encounter high-level reading and writing tasks, which extend beyond grade level standards.

Homogeneous GATE Humanities Course (all grades)

All students in a Homogeneous GATE Humanities (Language Arts and Social Studies) class are district-identified GATE students.

GATE Humanities Cluster (all grades)
A GATE Humanities cluster of 8-12 district-identified GATE students is placed within an otherwise heterogeneously grouped, self-contained classroom for Language Arts and Social Studies.
