The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School

The Academy
This school year marks our ninth year for The Academy. We are proud to announce that over 400 students are enrolled in The Academy this year and our waitlist continues to grow. We welcome our new families and look forward to getting to know you. We appreciate the continued support from our continuing families. We would like to thank our parents who quadrupled their volunteer time this past year, and we look forward to continuing this successful partnership. This year our Academy team will continue to collaborate and provide a unique, enriching educational experience for our students.

Again, thank you to our continuing families, welcome to our new families and we are ready for a successful, exciting new year!
The Academy History
In the spring of 2010 a committee of teachers and staff was formed to examine the feasibility and benefits of creating an Academy. The comittee had an interest in exploring programs that provide our students with more opportunities for success, relevant learning, and an environment where they will be ready for the future.
The committee, collectively and individually, began to collect input from students and families. From the many informal and formal meetings, the committee proposed the establishment of The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School. With the philosophical and financial support of our District's Learning Support Services Department, we welcomed our first Academy families in the Fall of 2012.  Our Academy at Meadowbook Middle School continues to grow strong.

The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School provides students with a relevant, rigorous, and interest-oriented education that respects their individual interests, while preparing future-ready students. The Academy at Meadowbrook emphasizes collaborative teaching with a differentiated curriculum. The Academy is open to students who share an interest and commitment to being their best and a willingness to commit an extra hour at the end of each school day. With the extra hour in their daily schedule, students have the opportunity to enroll in a second elective or receive additional support in a core subject.
