The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School
Our RIGOROUS and Personally REWARDING Program
At Meadowbrook we provide access and opportunity to students by meeting their needs, maintaining high expectations, and encouraging exploration of relevant curriculum.
Students in The Academy have the opportunity to take two electives from any combination of traditional and/or new courses. All students at Meadowbrook have access to our electives.

The
Academy at Meadowbrook provides students with additional course offerings:
1.
Computer Graphics Art. This is one of the fastest growing fields. This course offers students the opportunity to evaluate, design, and create graphic art. Students work with Photoshop and Illustrator through carefully designed, standard based projects. The Principles of Design are taught as students develop their unique, artistic style.
2.
Digital Photography. Digital cameras are widely used in all industries. Our students will use and learn the various aspects of digital photography including the software programs associated with digital media print.
3.
Math Support. We recognize that our primary goal is to increase the performance level of all our students, this course is designed for students who are basic or below on the California Standards Test and/or performing at a C or lower in their math course. This course will serve as a second elective for students fitting the profile described.
4.
English/ Language Arts Support. We recognize that our primary goal is to increase the performance level of all our students, and this course is designed for students who are basic or below on the California Standards Test and/or performing at a C or lower in their Language Arts course. This course will serve as a second elective for students fitting the profile described.
5.
Gateway to Technology- Features a project-based curriculum designed to challenge and engage the natural curiosity and imagination of students. They envision, design and test their ideas as they study mechanical and computer control systems.
Please note that all offerings are based on student interest, teacher credentialing, and scheduling. Every elective may not be available at all grade levels.
