The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School
Organizational Structure
The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School has an extended school day each day that school is in session. This added time is an 8th period day Monday through Friday for Academy students.Academy students attend school until 3:25 p.m. To provide access to a second elective choice, student schedules are formatted for flexibility and groupings by interests. Because The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School will follow the same bell schedule as Meadowbrook Middle School,Academy students always have the opportunity to interact with all other students on campus.
The core curriculum (math, science, social studies, and language arts) are taught by teachers who are highly qualified and GATE trained in differentiation. The language arts and math teachers teach one additional class to accommodate the needs of students who have not yet met their potential for academic success in a particular subject. Meadowbrook teachers work collaboratively and collectively to meet the needs of students.
Parents are an important part of a winning formula. The Academy at Meadowbrook expects parents to be active participants in their child’s education. With this in mind, parents are required to attend school-related functions, encouraged to volunteer for a minimum of 20 hours per year, and engage in supporting the growth of The Academy.
