Dear Accountability Coordinators:

We are pleased to announce that the 2016–17 School Accountability Report Card (SARC) Web
Application with the pre-populated 2016–17 SARC template will be available today by 2:00pm. The
SARC Web Application logon Web page is located at http://www.sarconline.org/Home/Logon. In
accordance with Education Code (EC) sections 35256 and 35258, the SARC must be posted
annually on or before February 1.

For all active public schools, the California Department of Education (CDE) has provided all
currently available data elements specified in the blank 2016–17 SARC template that have
“DPC” (data provided by the CDE) indicated in the tables/cells. The data elements that are not
currently available are the Physical Fitness Test results and Suspensions and Expulsions
results. Once these remaining CDE data elements are available, they will be uploaded onto the
SARC Web Application and the corresponding downloadable data files will be made available
on the SARC Web page.

Please be advised that the remaining CDE data elements will be uploaded onto the SARC
Web Application into the corresponding tables/cells that have not been altered by the
. If the LEA/user at any time presses the “SAVE” button in any of the tables/cells that
are pending the remaining data elements from the CDE, the system will not upload the CDE
new data into these tables/cells. The system is set up this way in an effort to not overwrite any
data that the LEA/user has input. For example, if after the LEA/user has input data in a table/cell
that is pending CDE new data, pressed the “SAVE” button, and later removes all their data and
leaves the table/cell blank, the system will not upload the CDE new data. Once the “SAVE”
button has been pressed, the system will consider this table/cell updated by the LEA/user and
will not upload the CDE new data in the corresponding tables/cells.

For further information about the SARC Web Application, please contact the SARC Team by
phone at 916-319-0406 or by e-mail at sarc@cde.ca.gov.
