Principal's Message…

Dear Bobcat Families,

I am honored to serve as the Principal of Bernardo Heights Middle School.  My passion for education and supporting student success brought me to this position and I welcome the opportunity to serve the Bernardo Heights community. Our goal here at BHMS is to create a safe and supportive environment where each and every Bobcat feels like they are a part of our Bobcat Family.

I come to Bernardo Heights Middle School from Del Norte High School were I served for six years as an Assistant Principal.  Prior to my service as a site administrator, I was a classroom teacher for eleven years, teaching 7th grade Humanities and World History and Art History at high school.

Bernardo Heights has a history of excellence and I enjoy partnering with the staff, students, and families to continue in this tradition. Working together, we will continue to provide our students outstanding educational opportunities so that they will achieve their highest potential as they transition to high school.

On a personal note, my husband is an educator as well and we have two wonderful children who are also at and approaching middle school age.  Parenting is truly a humbling experience and I plan to partner with you to support you and your students through this amazing journey we are on.

Sincerely,
Marie Galaz
Principal, Bernardo Heights Middle School
