Dance Troupe


Beginning/Intermediate Dance

Prerequisite - None
Intermediate Dance is designed to give those students with previous experience a chance to progress onto more challenging dance techniques. Choreography, vocabulary of dance, dance history and elements of critiquing the art of dance will be included in the class. In addition, performances of choreographed and original dance routines will be mandatory. This course may be used to meet the UC/CSU “G” requirement and PUSD PE or Fine Arts requirement.

Advanced Dance

By Audition Only
Advanced Dance is an accelerated class designed to explore dance from many vantage points. Advanced dance technique will be the basis of the class. Choreography, dance history, interpretive qualities and originality will complement the class. Performance of original choreographies will be mandatory. Elements of critiquing the art of dance will also be refined. This course may be used to meet the UC “F” or “G” requirement and PUSD Fine Arts or PE requirement.

Guest Dancers

Westview Dance welcomes all students to be part of the concerts. Opportunities to dance in the social, comedy and friendship dance exist. Also if you are especially skilled in ballet, pointe or multi-cultural dance, but are unable to fit the course into your schedule, please contact Shannon Parker or a Troupe dancer. Males wishing to be involved in the social or Boy's Troupe piece must contact a troupe member or Shannon Parker 2 months prior to each concert. Please find us in the dance studio Mon. - Wed. - Fri., 4th period.
