Vanessa Ho

Counselor - HUB 2

Vanessa Crawford Ho has worked at Westview since 2012 as a school counselor. She supports students whose homeroom teachers are in the math and business departments. Vanessa provides academic, college/career, and personal/social support to students. In addition to serving as a school counselor at Westview, Vanessa is the high school vice president for the California Association of School Counselors (CASC), advocating for the profession of school counseling.

Prior to working at Westview, Vanessa served as a counselor in Half Moon Bay, CA and in San Diego Unified School District. She has always enjoyed working with high school students as a tutor, mentor, and advisor when in college. As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, Vanessa worked as a college advisor at a high school in East Oakland. There she saw the potential impact she could have as a high school counselor. Upon graduating from college she moved back to her hometown of San Diego and immediately pursued her master's degree. San Diego State University's school counseling program was the perfect fit. Through her education at SDSU, she has had the opportunity to teach several graduate level courses in the school counseling department and has trained counselors across the nation on data-driven practices.

When not at work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband Henry, daughter Alex, and their corgi/beagle Summer. She loves sports and especially likes to play recreational softball and kickball. Vanessa and her family love to travel and are always looking for the next place to explore, whether it be in San Diego or around the world.
