Peer Counseling

The Peer Counseling program at Mt. Carmel High School has a central mission of serving our fellow Sundevils through  mentoring, connecting, tutoring and in general, being ambassadors for the Sundevil Way in our school and local community.  MC Peer Counselors are carefully screened and chosen through a competitive interview and application process that takes place in the spring of each school year.  Peer Counselors then commit to specialized summer training in communication/listening skills, conflict resolution and recognizing/overcoming bias.  Other training topics included throughout the year include: healthy relationships, wellness and stress management.  Students interested in serving others by becoming an MC Peer Counselor should contact Mrs. Hatfield in Student Services or Mrs. Bronson in the Sun Center (Counseling Office).
