Graduation Commencement Ceremony Information

Congratulations Del Norte Senior Class of 2021!

Del Norte High School is planning for our seniors’ graduation in accordance with the state's guidance on GRADUATIONS AND COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES. Thank you for filling out the survey so we can plan logistics and details. Any graduate/family that did not respond to the survey by May 14th will be included in the plans for Option #1-Traditional Graduation Ceremony. 
 

OPTION #1- Traditional Graduation in the Stadium at 3:00 p.m. on June 18, 2021

Traditional Del Norte ceremony with up to six (6) guests seated in the stands and distanced from others.  Six (6) guest tickets will be issued to graduates at the senior sunset picnic on Wednesday, June 16th  from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on campus.  Graduates participating in this ceremony option must participate in the mandatory graduation practice on Thursday, June 17th, at the Del Norte Stadium from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  

·     Pomp and Circumstance entry to the stadium by graduates (courtesy of Del Norte music department).  

·     Graduates wear cap, gown, tassel, school medallion, and formal commencement attire.  

·     Participants, graduates and guests must wear masks and follow distancing guidelines.

·     Student speech (audition only). Speeches are due this Friday, May 7th. See Senior Calendar & Activities previously sent via Naviance, Connect Ed, and on the School Website.  

·     A professional photographer will take a formal photo of the graduate. Grad Images will send information to graduates and families directly.    

·     Guests will not be allowed on the field, before or after ceremony, due to county health guidelines.  

·     This ceremony will be livestreamed for friends and family who are not able to attend in person. Livestream link will be sent out at a later date. 

·     Graduates will pick up diplomas at the end of the ceremony during check out. 


OPTION #2 - Morning "Walk Through" Ceremony on June 18, 2021

For those graduates and their guests who prefer not to attend an in-person graduation ceremony with a larger crowd, we will allow graduates with their guests to come into the stadium the morning of June 18th at specific reserved times for a "walk through" ceremony.  

·     Graduates wear cap and gown, tassel, school medallion, and formal commencement attire.  

·     Participants, graduates and guests must wear masks and follow distancing guidelines. 

·     Graduates will be limited to six (6) guests to observe the walk through ceremony which includes reading of the name, turning the tassel and receiving the diploma. 

·     A professional photographer will take a formal photo of the graduate. Grad Images will directly contact the graduate and family.       


OPTION #3 

Non-participation in Graduation

Graduates may opt out of graduation altogether.  Graduates choosing this option will be contacted with specifics on when to pick up their diploma.
