GO NIGHTHAWKS!

The Bricks

Established in August 20, 2009, Del Norte is a proud member of the nationally acclaimed Poway Unified School District. DNHS is the fifth (and last) comprehensive high school to open in PUSD. Located on a gorgeous 62 acre site on the edge of a blurred line separating 4S from Del Sur, the $105 million dollar state-of-the-art campus was carefully and thoughtfully engineered to support 21st century students and learning.

The Mortar

As impressive as the facilities are, it’s the people who make Del Norte distinctive. The original Leadership Team, comprised of highly qualified teacher-leaders representing each of our sister high schools, and the amazing staff who have since joined Team Del Norte, freely share best practices as well as an openness to new ideas and change. The result... Del Norte is on a fast-track toward becoming a destination school.

House-to-Home

The dream for Del Norte has always been to create a school environment where everyone belongs, where everyone is valued, supported, and safe, and where everyone contributes. We call it Home Court Advantage. We don’t want students to simply attend this school; we want them to identify with it - to feel a sense of ownership and pride. Like family, there should be a place for everyone at the table. It should not matter that you rent an apartment or live in the Crosby Estates. It should not matter if you can throw a baseball 90mph or play a double high C note on the trumpet. Everyone has a gift, and each individual adds value to our community.
