  •   Late Item Drop Off

Please help us reduce the amount of interruptions during the school day with late/forgotten items being dropped off in the office. These items include everything from books, homework, lunches, band instruments and messages for students with after school plans. We know teachers and parents both value every student’s instruction time. We have begun a new drop-off policy to encourage less class time interruptions. For lunches, snacks or water bottles:  Please tell your students to check in the office at the start of their recess time.  If they have not come for it, we will then call them to pick the item up. For late homework, we will no longer call classrooms and we will email the teacher for the student to pick up. We have also had many afternoon phone calls to relay messages regarding pick-up plans or reminders for afterschool activities. Please relay these messages to students before school starts or send a note with the student to remind them in order to limit the amount of class disruptions.   The new drop off policy is now in place.  Please take the steps to ensure students have what they need for their school day before being dropped off for school.

    Character Counts!

    March Focus:

This month’s Character Pillar is Caring.  When we are caring we show respect to people, animals and the environment.  People who are caring show kindness to others and do not exclude them from activities.  This is the perfect Pillar for our Kindness Challenge.  Some things you can do to promote the Caring Pillar at home are by:

~ Demonstrating love and affection.  Giving time, attention and praise.

~ Encouraging the awareness of and expression of feelings.

~ Teaching children to think of the impact their conduct will have on others.

~ Encouraging and modeling caring, empathy, charity, and service to others.

~ Asking your children to share daily something they did to show caring to others at home and at school.
