Red Ribbon Week / October 23-October 27

Valley's PTA has a full week of activities lined up, starting on Monday, October 23. To kick off Red Ribbon Week, teachers will be handing out self-sticking ribbons to all students on Monday.   For the rest of the week, students are asked to use a safety pin from home to attach the red ribbon to their clothes each day.  Tuesday is Eat With Your Student Day, as a reminder that drugs have no part in a healthy lifestyle.  Flyers went home this week with information specific to each grade's lunch schedule.  Wednesday's theme is "Sock it to Drugs!"  Wear crazy socks and please consider donating clean, unused socks in any size to go to homeless students within PUSD.  Donations can be dropped off in the office any time during the week.  Let's all wear red on Friday to show our unity in the fight against drugs. The fun continues Friday night, October 27, at Valley's Boogie Bash.  We can't wait to see Valley families in costume!  Please remember to leave all weapons and scary masks at home.  We will have a DJ and photobooth ($2 charge) in the MPR, so come ready to Boogie down for a great Monster Mash!

Immunizations

If you are enrolling a student in PUSD, your child must be up to date with all of his/her immunizations

Classroom Interruptions

Please be aware the teachers have a lot of work to do with your students and we ask for your help in reducing the number of interruptions to the classrooms.  Our office staff has been instructed not to interrupt the classroom during the school day unless there is a family emergency.  You can help by discussing with your child alternate pick up plans for the days you may be running later or when the weather is rainy or alternate plans in case lunch/homework/instruments are forgotten at home.  The office staff cannot guarantee that these items will get to the students in time.  We greatly appreciate your support in helping us create a successful environment for our Valley students.
