  •   School Reopening Plan for Learning, Health and Safety

    Introduction
On Friday, July 17, Governor Newsom announced clear mandates for how and when California schools can physically reopen. Schools can reopen if the county they are located in is removed from the state’s COVID-19 monitoring list for 14 consecutive days. At this time, San Diego County has been placed on the state monitoring list due to rising cases since early July. As such, the San Diego County Department of Public Health’s latest public health order does not allow for the physical reopening of schools.

Poway Unified School District (PUSD) continues to monitor local public health conditions to ensure our reopening plans are in alignment with county, state, and federal guidelines and recommendations. This plan ensures PUSD is on track to reopen our schools for in-person learning as soon as possible pending health orders.

  •   School Supplies for the 2020-2021 School Year

School supplies for next school year will be up to each family to purchase for their individual student.  It is very important that anything that goes to school is tagged with your childs name and will be used ONLY by your child.  You will want to have these items in a bag or baggie with their name on it.  With all of the uncertanties for next school year, we have found it difficult to create a grade level list, please know that you can wait until school starts for the teacher to identify any needs.  If you find yourself in a situation where you would like to purchase supplies but have financial challenges in doing so, please email Cris Rollins at crollins@powayusd.com and share those concerns.

    Family Commitment Form Period

From Sunday, July 26 through Friday, July 31, PUSD families are being asked to choose one of the Learning Model options outlined below for each of your children. We want you to select the option that works best for your family’s and student’s needs. Your selection will allow us to ensure we are placing your children in a learning environment that provides the most comfortable and successful opportunity for them. Here is the Family Commitment Form. You must fill out one separate form for every child in your household. If you do not make a selection by Friday, July 31 at 11:59pm, your child will be automatically placed in the on campus option. READ MORE HERE
