Please help me congratulate our 2017-18 Teacher of the Year, Heather de Anda, our RSP Teacher!  This is what the Turtleback staff has to say about Mrs. De Anda:
Heather is truly a dedicated educator.  Heather has a superior ability to inspire the love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.  She ensures students success with multimodal instruction that is sensitive to the needs of each student, while implementing several positive reinforcing systems and methods.  She is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in the area of meeting the diverse needs of her students and has created an environment that motivates students to do their very best to learn and improve.  She is masterful in creating beneficial materials and resources to meet the individual needs of her students and the students in Gen Ed classrooms.  Heather is skillful, dedicated, and committed to “every child learning, no matter what it takes.”
Heather is respected and admired by her colleagues with her generous giving of her time and the wealth of knowledge and resources she shares in creating collaborative solutions for problematic situations to ensure positive outcomes.  She is poised and articulate in her manner in meetings with parents, colleagues, and while leading presentations for the staff.  Heather also takes an active role in community as for over fifteen years she spent countless hours coordinating, and managing the different levels and award banquets for a local competitive gymnastic organization.  For many years, she managed a local nonprofit organization called 2K4Kids by helping with fundraising efforts to raise money for college scholarships for the community.
Can you imagine planning individually for 40 plus students?  Heather is always smiling, testing her brains out, running small groups for students TK -5!! WHAT?  And she keeps coming back!!!!!

Warm Regards,
Ann Auten
