Parent Info Night Presentation (from April 11 Meeting)

For details regarding placement into Transitional Kindergarten versus Kindergarten go here:
PUSD TK/KINDER INFO
KINDERGARTEN = Students turning FIVE YEARS OLD on or before September 1.
TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN (TK) = Students whose FIFTH birthday is between September 2 through December 2.
(Kindergarten age students who have FIFTH birthdays between JUNE 1 and SEPTEMBER 1 who want TK will need to get their name on the TK Waiting list, coordinated by the district. These Kindergarten students will be placed in TK --IF space is available and on a first-come/first-served basis.)
PUSD is aware of the amendment to California Education Code 48000(c) which permits districts the option to enroll students who turn 5 years of age after December 2 to be admitted to the Transitional Kindergarten program.  After a review of this option, our District enrolls only students who meet the cutoff date of December 2 into the Transitional Kindergarten program.
