Pledge Sheet

The Jog-a-Thon pledge sheets went home on Monday, January 22nd. We will have an online system at where you will click "Not Registered for This Year's Event" and it will send you a reset of your password, or new information if this is your first time registering. All previously saved passwords will not be valid. Please look for the form to come home if you have any questions.

Our prizes this year include:

$0-49: A  Jog-A-Thon t-shirt, Chick Fil-A gift card for a free meal, and a reusable bag from I-Ortho, formerly Moser Orthodontics.

$50-99: all of the above and a pass for free miniature golf or go kart ride at Boomers! San Diego*

$100-above: all of the above, bubbles*, and entered into a drawing for Rockin Jump passes, Baked Bear gift cards, and more!

Please sign up for volunteering at the Jog-A-Thon using the below link. You can sign up for your child's classroom to put tally marks on the back of their shirts on the day of. Siblings are welcome, and we would love to see you there.


8th Annual Jog-A-Thon | SlyReply



The 5th grade classrooms will be selling Valentine candy grams to help fund their field trip to Riley's Farm this spring. Sales begin Monday, February 4th and run through February 14th. Each candy gram costs $1 and will be delivered to the classrooms each day. Please look for the Valentine candy gram table at the front of the school before and after school. Thank you for your support!



If you would like to weigh in on the programs and resources you think are important in your child’s education or where we could improve, please join Mrs. Wilken at 5:30 pm on February 13th in the library for the Parent/Community LCAP Forum.  We hope to see you there.



“Registration Request” forms for 2018-2019 will be accepted February 1 – March 1, 2018. The form is available and can be completed online:  All completed forms are automatically sent directly to the PUSD Preschool Administration Office.  A lottery process may be required if the requests for a class exceed openings in the class. Parents will be notified on March 31 regarding class placements or wait list status. Registration Request forms received after March 1st will be processed in the order received. Children must be 3 before September 1, 2018 to enroll in preschool. For more information: go to website above or call (858) 521-2800.  State-funded free Preschool class registration begins at the end of April for families who are income-eligible.



Thank you to all who have turned in their Variety Show applications.  Auditions will be held on Tuesday, February 6th in the multipurpose room.  Emails will be sent with more details about auditions to the Variety Show participants. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer at



February 9th from 6:30pm-8:30pm

Get out your poodle skirts and slick back your hair. It’s time for the Annual Sock Hop dance in the multipurpose room.  There will be an open unit PTA meeting at 6:00 pm prior to the Sock Hop.  Join us in family fun for everyone. There will be dancing, limbo and hula hoop contests. Root beer floats, pizza, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase at a cost of $1.00-$1.50 each.  The flyer can be found on Peachjar.  Tickets cost $4.00 at the door.



There will be a Mash-Up again this year.  This is open to all Sunset Hills Students. The students will be learning a dance to “A Brand New Day” from the musical The Wiz during lunch recess (T/Th) during the month of February and will be performed at the Variety Show. You must be able to attend Dress Rehearsal on March 7th and the Variety Show itself on March 9th.  More information and a sign-up sheet will be available on Peachjar early next week. Mark your calendars, no school February 19th - 23rd.


Chelsea’s Run will be on March 3rd this year. Please join the Sunset Hills Seagulls in running on the 163 Freeway! You can sign up at the link below. If we can get 50 people again this year, we will get a booth at the run. Remember the run proceeds help go towards scholarships for students, you can run or walk, and after the run there are great booths to check out that are fun for the whole family.

The yearbook staff is looking for volunteers to help with our annual publication. Volunteer opportunities include 1) being a room photo parent, 2) helping with laying out the photos in the yearbook, and 3) overseeing yearbook sales and finances. Being a room photo parent only requires you attend one or two events for your child’s classroom and share the photos with the yearbook staff. Both the yearbook layout and finance positions can be handled primarily from home in the evenings/on weekends. For information or to volunteer, please contact Dana McPherson at



We are looking for energetic people who enjoy being around TRRFCC students to help supervise the students on the playground.  If you are interested, please call the office and they will answer any questions you may have.



We encourage you to join the College Bound spirit as we wear them EVERY MONDAY to set a positive, focused tone for the week ahead. The T-shirt design is the same as last year.  The order form went home in the first day packets. The cost is $10.00 per shirt.  Order forms are available in the office.



Playground supervision starts at 8:10 am.  In order to ensure the safety of all our students and school community, front gates are locked and closed before school. Students (and their families) that arrive before 8:10 am may enter through the office.  The west gate that opens to the playground will be opened at 8:10 am and locked upon school starting. When dropping your child off in the morning, please continue to pull all the way forward before your child gets out of the car. This will help maintain the flow of traffic.


Please remind your child that NO student may leave the school grounds during the school day without being checked out of the front office.



PUSD Board Policy 4.415 prohibits volunteers on campus unless they have completed a background check and had a TB Skin Test. All visitors and cleared volunteers must report to the office, sign-in, and wear a visitor's pass. The PTA keeps track of volunteer hours and reports them to the Palomar Council.
