LIGHT THE SCHOOL – December 10- 21
This holiday season, we want our students to be “lights” around the school, community and homes. With our lights (service), we can become more aware of how we can brighten our world.  To this end, Student Council, Mrs. Hunsaker and the team will be sharing various service projects.  How to Light the School:
Monday: Do something to help your friends or family
Tuesday:  Do something nice for a friend you haven’t yet met
Wednesday:  Do something nice for your teacher
Thursday:  Do something nice for other adults at school
Friday:  Do something nice for your community
Teachers will distribute the bulbs to be placed on the door.
We will also be collecting a variety of GIFT CARDS to be used throughout the year for our own families when a need arises.

OUT OF SCHOOL 5 OR MORE DAYS?
PUSD provides Off-Campus Independent Study (OCIS) for students away from campus. This is intended to continue your child’s education should there be a need to be off campus for five or more days, NOT due to illness. This request must be made five school days before your departure to allow our teacher sufficient time to gather the work.  Please see Ms. Mary for this contract.  She will make you aware of all of rules which apply to an OCIS contract.

All Sundance students benefit from your donation and collectively thank you!

FORGOTTEN ITEMS
To avoid classroom interruption, any items to be delivered to students after school starts will be placed outside the classroom.  Please let your children know that they should look by the classroom door for “late deliveries!”   All items should have the student’s name and room number attached. Tags are available at the front desk.   You are welcome to email the teacher alerting them that the item was dropped off.  Thank you!

BIRDING PROGRAM
Did you know that Sundance has a birding program?  And If you can volunteer your time from noon to 1:15 on Mondays we would be very grateful.   We are one of a very few schools in the county that provides an opportunity for our students to participate in this very fun and educational activity.  Palomar Audubon has even donated 20 sets of binoculars. On Mondays, during lunch Alice Holmes, local birding expert, takes groups of kids onto the field to spot the plethora of birds we have on or near campus.  She could use your help.  The job could be as simple as helping to pass out and collect binoculars.  If interested contact Alice atgreenheron@sbcglobal.net

BOX TOPS
Please continue to clip and collect Box Tops.  They add up quickly and are a valued resource for our school.  THANK YOU
